Prescription Motorcycle Glasses

Frequently Asked Questions

At RX-Safety, we know the importance of protecting your eyes out on the open road. We want our customers to be able to focus solely on the thrill of the ride while they are out on their motorbikes. However, this thrill may quickly fade away if debris is able to enter your eyes. This is why we have streamlined our process for selecting and purchasing your motorcycle prescription glasses. Simply head on over to our Prescription Motorcycle Glasses page. You’ll then see all of our great frame styles. Browse the frames using our filters and select your favorite pair. Then, you go through the process of selecting your lens options, coatings, and adding your prescription.

Just like with all of our other glasses, we have given our motorcycle rider customers the flexibility to build their own glasses. This means they have the freedom to also choose what features they want added such as specific lens materials and coatings. All frames have a base price that ranges from around $50 to over $100 for more luxury frames. After selecting your frame, you then have the option to add special coatings and features to your lenses. This part of the process is completely optional and up to you!

The frames of your prescription motorcycle glasses will never expire. We build them with high quality materials such as polycarbonate. This means that they are tough, long lasting, and can withstand high velocity environments. However, we know that as you age, the prescription you need on your frames can change. When this happens, you can either purchase yourself a new pair or utilize our lens replacement service.

Your prescription motorcycle glasses, prescription motorcycle sunglasses, or prescription motorcycle goggles will not take any longer than regular prescription glasses purchased from RX-Safety. Most prescription orders generally take about 7-10 business days to process before shipping. Depending on the options you chose, your order could process faster or slower.

We manufacture our prescription motorcycle goggles out of the same material as our regular motorcycle glasses. Therefore, we manufacture our motorcycle glasses, sunglasses, and goggles out of high-quality materials. The materials are built to last. This is because we know they will be exposed to wind, dust and debris, and potentially high impact situations. They are made of high-quality polycarbonate and TR-90 Nylon. This material is extremely lightweight and comfortable for long lasting protection and toughness.

We are proud to carry a wide array of lens color options. The lens color options can be utilized for a wide variety of environments. To help you select the perfect lenses for your needs, we have added descriptions when you click the question mark on each lens option. After you have selected your favorite frames, simply scroll down to “lens color” where you will see all of the lens color options. The question mark symbol will go into detail about the benefits of each color and what environment they are good for. This benefits motorcyclists that are often in sunny lighting, dusk, or more!

Regarding night-time motorcycle riding, it’s crucial to prioritize safety and ensure good visibility. Below is some general guidance for choosing night-time motorcycle goggles with prescription lenses:

  1. Lens Tint: Opt for clear or Yellow tinted lenses for night riding. Dark or heavily tinted lenses may reduce visibility in low-light conditions.
  2. Anti-Glare Coating: Look for goggles with anti-glare or anti-reflective coatings on the lenses. These coatings can help reduce glare from oncoming headlights and streetlights, enhancing your vision at night.
  3. Prescription Compatibility: Ensure that the goggles can accommodate your prescription lenses. Some goggles may have built-in prescription inserts, while others require you to fit prescription lenses into the frame. We Find you get a better experience with lenses inserted directly into the frame.
  4. Comfort and Fit: A proper fit is crucial for comfort and safety. Look for goggles with adjustable straps, cushioning around the frame, and a snug but not overly tight fit.
  5. Fog Resistance: Fogging can be common, especially in colder weather. Choose goggles with anti-fog features, or consider using an anti-fog spray or wipes to minimize fogging.
  6. Quality and Safety Standards: Ensure the goggles meet your region’s relevant safety standards for motorcycle eyewear. Look for certifications such as ANSI Z87.1 or similar standards.

Regarding prescription motorcycle glasses for driving into the sunset, there are a few key features you should look for to ensure optimal vision and protection.

  1. Polarized lenses: Polarized lenses are designed to reduce glare, which can be especially beneficial when riding into the sunset. They help minimize the blinding effect caused by the sun’s rays reflecting off surfaces like the road or other vehicles.
  2. UV protection: Ensure that the motorcycle glasses offer 100% UV protection. Exposure to UV rays can harm your eyes, so choosing glasses that shield your eyes from UVA and UVB rays is important.
  3. Wraparound style: Opt for glasses that provide a wraparound style, as they offer better coverage and protection from wind, dust, and other elements. This design also helps prevent peripheral glare and ensures a more secure fit.

Yes, at Rx-Safety, we offer a solution to prevent fogging on your motorcycle glasses. We understand that fogging can be a significant issue while riding, affecting your vision and safety. That’s why we offer a proprietary anti-fog coating that can be applied to any prescription pair of glasses, ensuring they stay fog-free throughout their lifetime.

These specialized eyewear pieces are engineered to provide optimal protection for your eyes while you’re on the road. They are not just a fashion statement; they are a critical part of your riding gear.

Motorcycle glasses serve multiple essential functions for riders. They provide crucial eye protection, acting as a barrier against wind, dust, debris, and insects that can pose potential hazards during a ride. The padding surrounding the glasses creates a seal, effectively preventing anything from entering your eyes while you’re on the road. Additionally, these glasses offer UV protection, shielding your eyes from the harmful effects of the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays, which is especially important during extended rides.

Furthermore, motorcycle glasses are designed to reduce wind irritation, keeping your eyes comfortable even when faced with strong winds. Many of these glasses also come equipped with polarized lenses, enhancing your vision by reducing glare, particularly in bright sunlight or wet road conditions. For riders requiring corrective lenses, prescription options are readily available, ensuring that your vision remains clear and your safety uncompromised. RX Safety offers a comprehensive range of prescription solutions, ensuring that your eyewear meets both your visual needs and the demands of the road.

Motorcycle glasses are made from high-quality materials that are durable and long-lasting. Plus you can upgrade your lens with polycarbonate, anti-reflective and anti-fog ensuring that your investment will serve you well for years to come.

The padded design of motorcycle glasses not only enhances safety by creating a seal but also ensures a comfortable fit. You can ride for hours without experiencing discomfort or pressure on your face.

Most of RX Safety’s motorcycle glasses are designed to meet industry safety ratings such as ANSI Z87, EN 166, and/or MIL-PRF-32432. Which ensure extra protection for motorcycle riders.

The padding incorporated into motorcycle glasses serves a multifaceted purpose, addressing critical aspects of rider comfort and safety. Firstly, it establishes a protective seal around your eyes, effectively blocking out wind, dust, and debris. This seal plays a pivotal role in maintaining clear vision and safeguarding your eyes from potential road hazards. Secondly, the padding significantly enhances comfort by minimizing pressure points, preventing the glasses from causing discomfort or irritation during long rides. Lastly, it contributes to stability, ensuring that the glasses remain securely in place, even when you’re cruising at high speeds. This stability is crucial for maintaining uninterrupted vision and a safe riding experience.
