Presbyopia. Even if you’re not familiar with the name of this ocular condition, if you’re over the age of forty, there’s a very good chance that you’re familiar with its effects. As we age, the lens of our eye becomes more rigid and does not always conform as well as it used to; when this happens, the lens does not focus light rays into the proper area of the retina. The result is an inability to focus on objects unless they are kept approximately 12-16 inches away from the eye.
A secondary result for those affected with presbyobia is difficulty in reading, writing, or performing any visual task that requires in-close focus. To combat this effect, people who do not regularly wear glasses can order “reading glasses,” which are also known as “magnifiers”; they are clear lenses that make use of varying levels of magnification to compensate for the lack of focus. Those who wear corrective eyewear can also make use of these reading glasses, or order their prescription glasses as either bifocals or progressive (no line) bifocals – both versions include an area of the lower lens that features a built-in area of magnification.
If you dislike switching between your prescription glasses and reading glasses, or you use non-bifocal glasses and yet aren’t ready to invest in a new pair, you still have an option, one that is both affordable and versatile.
Hydrotac has introduced Stick-On Bifocal Lenses that do just that – stick on to your existing glasses and convert them into a pair of bifocal reading glasses. They simply adhere with water where and when you have a need for them, and are removable and reusable. Now you can bypass the purchase of separate reading eyewear, should you so desire; one pair of Hydrotac Stick-Ons can be transferred from eyeglass frame to sunglass frame to any other eyewear frame you may own.

I have used these on my oakley jew breakers and a pair of police sunglasses very successfully. I just bought a pair of Oakley sutra and i cannot get the lenses i took from the police sunglasses to “take” on the Sutra… took them off and put them back on the police glasses – work fine. Am i doing somethinf wrong with the Oakley Sutras?
Who we’ll do these work with transition lenses?
Hi Chris,
They work great over transition lenses and sunglasses.
