Two Safety Glasses in One: Meet ESS Frames with Replacement Lenses

ESS is a company that was born out of necessity. It took the pain points of our heroes, from first responders to battle-hardened military soldiers, and worked to craft the most versatile set of protective eyewear possible. With that said, their entire line, at the bare minimum, meet some type of military standard while at the same time can meet other types of workplace requirements and standards.

Another thing that comes with ESS frames is the fact that they take adaptability and flexibility like it’s second nature. Many of their frames have built-in functionality, such as changing out the lenses, having two frames in one, and other items to keep the user in an optimal state.

ESS 5B Ballistic Sunglasses

These sunglasses come in a larger size in a wraparound design to make sure that they stay on and cover the eyes completely. Regarding safety, they specifically come with ANSI Z87.1 high velocity and impact resistance, as well as ballistic resistance from its MIL-PRF-31013 specifications. This makes them an excellent choice for shooting glasses.

The ESS 5B comes in the following options: black with smoke gray lenses or mirrored copper lenses, Terrain Tan with Smoke Gray lenses, or Matte Navy with Polarized Mirror Lenses. You can use these on the range or straight into a hazardous situation, and they won’t fail you.

ESS Crosshair One Ballistic Eyeshield

These are more of an all-encompassing protective eye shield than safety glasses. What makes them great is that the lenses themselves are interchangeable, and you’re able to swap them out with any of the color options you want. You can buy each frame with lenses separately, but we also offer the standard black frame with all three lens types, which are Smoke Gray, Hi-Def Yellow, or Clear lenses.

On top of that, you’re able to add prescription lenses inside the frames, so you’re able to get that full protection and not need to try to fit them with another pair of prescription glasses.

The Crosshair One also comes with ballistic resistance with MIL-PRF-32432 on top of its ANSI Z87.1 and EN166 ratings.

ESS Striker Tactical XT Goggles

Our final option we’ll discuss here is actually an excellent pair of safety goggles. The Striker Tactical XT goggles have 2.6mm thick lenses that help to get that MIL-PRF-32432 ballistics rating, but it’s also OSHA and ANSI Z87.1 approved as well. If you’re taking it overseas it’s EN166 rated as well, making it the right type of safety goggles in many situations.

Comfort comes from the adjustable strap and the rubberized border to secure the goggles without pressing on your face. They work well if you need to wear prescription glasses, but they also come with prescription inserts so you can easily see through them when you put them on.

While they don’t come with shaded lenses, they still provide 100% UVA and UVB protection against the sunlight and, due to the design, helps to reduce any distortions in one’s vision from the glare.
